Survivor and Caregivers

Survivors and Caregivers

Survivors and caregivers are the heart of every Relay For Life event. We have activities and events designed specifically for you so you can get to know others in the community. In fact, it’s the largest cancer support network in the world!

Why participate as a survivor or caregiver?

If you would like to be part of the Relay For Life of Second Life Survivors / Cargivers group and be informed of special events occurring during the relay season,  or simply join the survivor and caregiver activities during Relay Weekend but don’t want to join a team,  please contact TS Darrow in Second Life.

Luminaria Ceremony – Dedication Form Submission

luminaria ceremony

As darkness falls, every Relay For Life event takes pause to hold a very special Remember – or Luminaria– Ceremony.  The Relay For Life of Second Life holds their Luminaria Ceremony on Saturday, July 16, 2016,  9pm SLT.

The Luminary Ceremony is always powerful and emotional, and is a time for quiet reflection and remembrance…a time to remember loved ones lost and to honour those still fighting cancer.  We stop all activities and stand by the Luminaria or walk the track in silence while the Luminaria Ceremony is held.

In Second Life we honor those lost and those still fighting by reading their names during the Luminaria ceremony.  If you have a name you would like read, please complete the 2016 Luminaria Dedication form by CLICKING HERE .

This form is for submitting dedications to honor the MEMORY of those who have lost their battle to cancer or SUPPORT those who have survived cancer. You may also honor a caregiver. During this special hour we will be reading your dedications live on air on T1 Radio. Feel free to submit this form for multiple dedications. One dedication per form please.

If you would like the name of loved one read during the Luminaria Ceremony, please complete the form by Clicking Here
